21 December 2012 - NEW Message from the Star Nations
In this time of uncertainty as we approach the supposed Doomsday, End of Days, The End of the Mayan Calendar, the End of the end of 2012. We wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanuka, Happy Holidays, Kwanza, or Winter Solstice, etc.
We do not believe in all of the dark days stuff, we have looked at it, listened to it, read about it, just as many of you have... and We have decided it does not fit. It does not resonate in my heart that anything will end, except more darkness.
Though I can't tell you not to prepare (food, water, heat sources...) for what MAY HAPPEN, I ask that you remember that this is a time of Celebration, of Joy and above all LOVE. I want to remind you, this is a time of NEW BEGINNINGS.
Stan and I send prayers and love to the world, especially to the innocent victims and their families of the many shootings that have transpired since July 20th, 2012.
Please watch this video, as I hope it will bring a bit of peace into your individual lives, to a world wracked with sorrow and pain, and return each of us to a place of thankfulness, joy, love, hope and celebration of change.
As I write this, I too am uncertain of what tomorrow will bring. That is what is so wonderful about being human. But I know this, my first grandson is yet to be born and I plan to celebrate his birth, as I have celebrated his conception...with Joy and Excitement of knowing I will watch him grow up. I celebrate that I have three amazing children, and a son-in-law, I celebrate that I have a husband who loves me, a home to snuggle in a blanket and watch Holiday movies all day tomorrow 12-21-2012, as well as friends and family who love and support me in all that I do, and all that I am. I am thankful for each and every one of you, my on-line friends.
Celebrate and be happy, for tomorrow is 'just another day' that we have to get through, before we can open presents!!! :)

Doomsday 2012 Hoax: NASA Scientist David Morrison Debunks End Of World Theories

The ancient Mayan civilization calendar is believed to end this year on Dec. 21. And somehow, through word-of-mouth, movies, books, the Internet, etc., a cult-like belief system has sprung up in our culture suggesting any number of awful things will take place on that date.
Some of these include:
- An unknown planet on a collision path with Earth.
- A close encounter between Earth and a black hole in deep space.
- More natural disasters around our planet.
- A shifting of Earth's magnetic poles.
Many believe it goes back thousands of years to the ancient Sumerian culture who reportedly discovered a twelfth planet they called Nibiru -- aka Planet X -- which was predicted to have a close encounter with Earth in 2003.
When that didn't happen, a new Doomsday was moved to December 2012.
On the other hand, there are some who believe the December date heralds not doom and gloom, but a more positive transformative experience for Earth and its inhabitants.
It all sounds rather sketchy, especially to a scientist.
"It's all a hoax, and it's based on absolutely no factual information. None of the things that are supposed to happen are real, and so it's kind of hard to even have a scientific discussion about what they're worried about because there's no science there," said David Morrison, a leading space scientist and director of the Carl Sagan Center for Study of Life in the Universe at the SETI Institute in California.

While SETI scientists are involved with the ongoing search for extraterrestrial intelligence, they also want to quiet any fears the public has about the alleged Doomsday.
To that end, Morrison created a special Doomsday 2012 Fact Sheet in September that's posted on both SETI and NASA websites.
According to this fact sheet, "opinion polls suggest that one in 10 Americans worry about whether they will survive past December 21 of this year."
"Think about that. It means when you walk down the street and look around, there are 25 million people who presumably have no stake in anything because their world's going to end in [December]. That is scary," Morrison told The Huffington Post.
When Morrison was researching information for his Doomsday fact sheet, he didn't find anything that confirmed that the Mayans left us any dire predictions.
"The Maya scholars I've talked to say flat out they did not make any such predictions. The question then is does their calendar end? Well, that's not true, either, because there are written references to dates that are hundreds of years in the future, which indicates the calendar must keep going," he said.
"So, this is not a Maya thing -- they don't think anything bad's going to happen, and it's only meaningful if you believe the Maya could predict the future."
Morrison assured HuffPost that he's not building a bunker in his backyard to protect himself and his loved ones.
"I am not. And that's a whole other thing that's part of this mythology about how the government has been frantically building bunkers to house millions of people underground -- the elite, of course, not the rest of us. And that's just crazy."

There is, however, one part of this whole Doomsday scenario that the NASA/SETI scientist is very concerned about.
"I think it is wrong to put out a website or make a YouTube video in order to frighten children," he said. "That is something we should be truly offended by. And my main concern is that children have said they are contemplating suicide. A science teacher in Stockton, Calif., said the parents of two of her students told her they were planning to kill the children and themselves in a family suicide before the 21st of December.
"For children who are asking, 'Will Christmas come this year, Daddy?' I think that's evil," Morrison said.
That's also a concern of Jonathan Alpert, a New York City-based psychotherapist and author of "Be Fearless: Change Your Life in 28 Days."
"I have adults who see me and have beliefs that the world is ending, and they have kids, so it permeates into the kids' thinking," Alpert told HuffPost. "They're instilling fear in their young ones. Kids learn from adults, so if you're a kid and you witness your parents getting frenetic and anxious around the end of the world, and they're hoarding water and this and that, then naturally you'll develop a similar response."
Alpert says that, even though scientists reject the Doomsday scenario, it still affects people.
"In a way, it's like a folklore," Alpert explained. "People want to feel like they're part of something. They want to believe in things, even if those things are somewhat outrageous. There's a feeling of belonging-ness."
To help parents and children cope with any Doomsday issues, Alpert offers some advice.
"I would say stick with the facts. Kids are impressionable and easily influenced and ideas can be perpetuated in an unhealthy way, so parents should certainly take an active role in knowing what their kids are being exposed to and subsequently re-educating their kids."

Despite UFO reports, officials say no missile crashed in Colorado

SAGUACHE COUNTY, Colo. — First it was a plane, then it was a missile. At one point, some even believed it to be a UFO.
Those were all among the rumors when a peculiar white, streaking sight was spotted in the dark, early morning sky in southwestern Colorado on Thursday.
Trooper Josh Lewis said the Colorado State Patrol received the first call on the matter at approximately 6:40 a.m., with the reporting party believing a plane crash had just occurred. As officers were en route, Lewis said the CSP received word from the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico that the projectile was not a plane, but instead a failed test missile launch.
Officials with the U.S. Army told FOX31 that the White Sands facility had tested a missile at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, but that all of the debris from the test had been contained to the facility grounds. In contrast to the report from Lewis, Army officials insisted their test had gone as planned, and that they did not believe any of the debris would be visible to residents in Colorado.
Several viewers emailed FOX31 concerned and confused about what they had seen Thursday morning. One individual wrote, “I have no clue what is was, so I guess I’ll just call it a UFO.”
Speaking for the CSP, Lewis said he had no further information about the peculiar sighting. When attempting to investigate the incident further, he said authorities at the White Sands Missile Range informed his office to “stand down.”

Doomed Space Cloud Hints at Planet Formation in Milky Way's Core

Astronomers have found a cloud of gas and dust around a young star being devoured by the giant black hole at the heart of our Milky Way galaxy, a find that, scientists say, suggests planets can form in galactic cores, scientists say.
The supermassive black hole thought to lurk at the center of the Milky Way is named Sagittarius A*. Scientists estimate it is about 4.3 million times the mass of the sun.
For the most part, very little light is seen emerging from near Sagittarius A*, aside from radio waves and some modest X-ray or infrared flares, suggesting not much matter is currently getting fed into it. This absence of data limits what investigators can deduce about the black hole's properties and behavior, as well as those of the other super-massive black holes believed to be at the centers of all large galaxies.
Recently, astronomers gazing at Sagittarius A* through the Very Large Telescope in Chile spotted a dusty gas cloud three times the mass of Earth hurtling toward the center of the galaxy at more than 5.2 million mph (8.4 million kph).
The cloud is putting out five times as much light as the sun as it zips along. The cloud should achieve its closest approach to the black hole in June 2013, reaching a distance of 270 times that of Earth from the sun. [Milky Way Black Hole Eats Space Cloud in 2013 (Video)]
Scientists are monitoring this mysterious cloud's behavior as it moves closer toward the black hole's accretion zone — the region where matter begins its death spiral into the black hole. A new theoretical model now suggests the cloud is probably the shredded remains of a protoplanetary disk surrounding a young, low-mass star — the kind of structures that worlds eventually develop from.
The star apparently came from the inner edge of a ring of stars 4 million to 8 million years old circling Sagittarius A* from a distance of about one-tenth of a light-year. Interactions within this ring could have flung this star, which by itself is too small for astronomers to see directly, toward the black hole on an elliptical, oval-shaped orbit.
The center of the Milky Way might ordinarily seem like an inhospitable place to try to form a planet, since the young, massive, super-hot stars that often dwell there typically explode as supernovas, blasting out shock waves and bathing the region with intense radiation.
"The galactic center is one of the most extreme environments in the galaxy," said lead study author Ruth Murray-Clay, a theoretical astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, Mass.
Nevertheless, the existence of protoplanetary disks near the center of the galaxy suggests that worlds can form in this cosmic maelstrom, as well as comets and asteroids.
"If our explanation for the gas cloud we see is shown to be true, that means protoplanetary disks — and by extension, planets — can be found everywhere," Murray-Clay told SPACE.com.
"It's fascinating to think about planets forming so close to a black hole," study author Abraham Loeb, a theoretical astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, Mass., told SPACE.com. "If our civilization inhabited such a planet, we could have tested Einstein's theory of gravity much better, and we could have harvested clean energy from throwing our waste into the black hole."
Future research might look for evidence of planets, comets and asteroids falling into supermassive black holes in other galaxies, such as the bright flares dying worlds would release as they get ripped apart. The glowing remains of protoplanetary disks getting sucked into black holes could shed light on low-mass stars near galactic cores that are otherwise too faint to be detected.
As the star continues its plunge over the next year, more and more of the disk's outer material will get torn away. The stripped gas will swirl into the maw of the black hole, and friction will heat it to incandescence, causing it to glow in X-rays.
"We're really looking forward to next summer," Loeb said.
Murray-Clay and Loeb detailed their findings online today (Sept. 11) in the journal NatureCommunications.
